Nightmare Outdoor - The last daylight 3CD.
The legendary hardcore festival 'Nightmare Outdoor' moved its borders on May 16, 2009. For the first time the festival left its Rotterdam roots to establish a new nightmare in the eastern parts of Holland. Going under the guise of "Nightmare Outdoor - The last daylight" this 2009 edition was a thrillin' opening of the summer festival season! Despite the tricky weather forecasts and the fact that this was the first time the party would proceed during daylight around 10.000 hardcore die-hards found their way to the spectacular festival grounds. UDC & Mid-Town Records served up 6 areas with a combined total 75 DJ's and live acts who took this festival ands its visitors into hardcore heaven.
From kickin' mainstream hardcore via brutal terror and industrial over to the good old early rave and happy hardcore, all aspects of this powerful scene were represented by leading artists such as Amnesys, Paul Elstak, DJ Panic, Mad Dog, D-Passion, Marc Acardipane, Tha Playah, Peaky Pounder, Scott Brown, Enzyme X, Na-Goyah, The Stunned Guys, Ophidian, Forze DJ Team, Akira, Mindustries and loads …and loads more! The combination of the outstanding music, the surprisingly good weather, the extreme phat location plus eye-catching decoration and the off course ear blowing sound systems made this 2009 edition a classic one.
Now Rotterdam Records take us back into the Nightmare with this awesome 3 disc compilation (presented in luxurious digipack) which offers a total of 6 live sets recorded at "Nightmare Outdoor - The Last Daylight".
DISC 1 brings us the live DJ set of Italian hardcore master AMNESYS, known for his classy releases on Traxtorm Records. This highly talented young man worked his way up to the top of the hardcore scene in no time and this live mix will let you hear why… The second live mix is by NEXES, another rising star in hardcore land who is gaining more popularity every day due to his hi-quality releases on leading labels like Enzyme Records, Bionic Recordings and recently on Neophyte Records. With his slammin' DJ set on 'Nightmare Outdoor' he proved to be one of the most important upcoming artists in the future of hardcore!
DISC 2 takes us on a ride back to the early days… The happy hardcore period was, of course, also a milestone in the history of hardcore, and due to this fact the dj set of the legendary FORZE DJ TEAM, formed by the Godfather of Rotterdam hardcore PAUL ELSTAK together with DJ PANIC and DJ LARS, was selected for the Nightmare Outdoor compilation. Their live DJ set offers the coolest "feel-good" classic happy hardcore tracks all delivered with a mighty punch! The early hardcore saga continues with the live DJ set by PREDATOR who raised the roof big time at the early rave area. The man, famous for his classic releases on the infamous Ruffneck label, served up a powerful, hard kickin' early hardcore mix which was highly appreciated by everyone at the festival.
DISC 3 moves further into "darkside" of hardcore. This disc kicks off with a ragin' & raw live DJ mix by MENTAL WRECKAGE, this top notch DJ/producer of industrial hardcore music made the crowd go mental with his twisted sound of the hardcore underground, typical Mental Wreckage mix, must have for the lovers of this sound! The journey ends with the bone crushing live act of BONEHEAD & PRINCE OV DARKNESS, who concluded this compilation with the speed of sound!! Brutal performance which was one the many highlights of the day, a worthy closure for this top CD.
